Layering your Shine Organic products for the most effective results

1. WATER BASED PRODUCTS

~ Water based products such as Hyaluronic Acid & Collagen Serum should always be applied on clean damp skin. You can use these after your Organic Rosewater or AHA toner spray. You can even apply 2 at the same time, i.e. your HA and Collagen, I like like to alternate them on different days.

2. ANHYDROUS (NO WATER)

~ Anhydrous (water free) such as our Vitamin C & Niacinamide B3 should be applied on clean dry skin, so let your toner or Rosewater become fully absorbed before applying. These kind of serums are applied after water based products and before creams & oils. So you can if you like apply your Hyaluronic Acid/Collagen and then your Vitamin C/Niacinamide. Please note it isn’t advisable to use your Vitamin C and Niacinamide B3 at the same time as the B3 can minimise the the effectiveness of the Vitamin C.

3. CREAMS & MOISTURISERS

~ Creams & Moisturisers, these are applied after your Serums have been fully absorbed into the skin. Before any application of a quality moisturiser, in particular ones like our Peptide & Native Moisturisers, that are high in Hyaluronic Acid, it’s always beneficial to apply to damp skin. You can either spray lightly with our Rose Water or flower water, our splash a bit of water on your skin. The Hyaluronic Acid molecules in our moisturisers will cross link with any liquid on your skin and draw it into the epidermis. This means your product will work more effectively, plus you will use less.

4. OILS

~ Oils, like our Anti-Ageing Elixir, these have a larger molecule size than your other water based or Anhydrous Serums so need to be applied at very end of your skincare routine. Our Elixir brings essential fatty acids to the skin, Vitamin E, Seabuckthorn Berry & Gotu Kola, all of which have extraordinary healing properties. Using this Oil last also locks in all the hydration incorporated while layering, essential if your skin is dry or dehydrated, and if you have an impaired skin barrier.
